Kazakh economy expands 5.2% in 9M
ASTANA. Oct 15 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan's GDP grew 5.2% year-on-year in January-September, according to preliminary data, said Alikhan Smailov, head of the State Statistics Agency.
"According to our estimates, GDP rose 5.2% in January-September," he told a Monday briefing in Astana.
The Kazakh Ministry of Economic Development and Trade forecasts that the economy will grow 6% in 2012, compared with a 7.5% increase in 2011.
