Business people may help relax Russia-West visa relations - Medvedev
MOSCOW. Oct 15 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has asked business people to assist in progress towards visa-free travel to and from the European Union and the United States.
"We have done a lot in recent years, especially in relations with the European Union, while there has been less progress in relations with other countries, such as the U.S.," he said at a meeting of the Advisory Council for Foreign Investment in Russia.
"I would like to ask the business community to assist in the relaxation of visa relations," he said.
Russia has done practically all it can to promote visa-free travel, Medvedev said. "But there are still a number of countries, EU states included, which block free travel. I think their position is unfair and shortsighted," the premier said.
