Patriots of Russia leads among non-parliamentary parties in regional election
MOSCOW. Oct 15 (Interfax) - The Patriots of Russia party is content with its results in the October 14 regional elections.
"The Patriots of Russia were first among non-parliamentary parties in a number of regions," Patriots of Russia deputy head Nadezhda Korneyeva told Interfax on Monday.
"In North Ossetia, our party received about 27% of the votes, finishing second after United Russia and outstripping the Communists and A Just Russia," she said.
In Udmurtia, we received nearly 4.5% in the election to the republican assembly - the best result among the rival non-parliamentary parties, Korneyeva said.
In Izhevsk, the administrative center of Udmurtia, the Patriots won more than 11%, she said.
In the Kaliningrad mayoral election, Patriots of Russia candidate Yevgeny Gan was third with more than 12% of the votes.
"And the outcome of the local council election in the town of Yantarny, Kaliningrad region, was a real sensation - our candidates were first in five single-mandate constituencies and our party list won about 36% of the votes - the top result in that municipality," Korneyeva said.
In Yaroslval, the Patriots took 6.8% or "two seats in the city parliament", leaving LDPR and Yabolko behind.
In Bashkiria, Patriots of Russia candidates were elected to the municipal councils of eight districts, their results ranging from 55% to 88% of the vote, Korneyeva said.
The party made a fairly strong showing in Karachayevo-Cherkessia. "In the election to the Karachyayevsk City Duma, our party list was supported by 32.6% of the voters, the second best result. And candidate Ruslan Kopsergenov was elected head of a rural municipality with 63% of the vote," she said.
The Patriots also did well in the Irkutsk, Kemerovo, Sverdlovsk and some other regions.
