Latest communication equipment delivered to Russian military base in Abkhazia
MOSCOW. Oct 21 (Interfax-AVN) - Communication experts at the Russian military base in Abkhazia have started mastering the latest portable satellite communication station Belozer which they received under a program of rearmament of troops of the Southern Military District, the press service of the district reports.
"The new station is meant for organizing satellite radio communication networks in the interests of units and formations operating independently of the main force via a transmitter aboard a satellite. It permits the transmission of digital and text messages and communications between subscribers in any part of the globe," a report received by Interfax-AVN on Friday says.
According to the press release, the station supports formalized service communications and covert telephone communications. Its portable version looks like a school backpack and can be carried by one person. Bringing it into working mode takes less than two minutes.
Last June communicators at the Russian military base in Abkhazia already received the latest standardized HQ machines of a new generation that automatically receive, process and record signals, collect and process data from electronic maps, resolve special calculating tasks etc. The GLONASS navigation equipment installed in the machines guarantees automatic definition of the location at any point of the route.
"The provision of the Russian military base with the latest samples of special equipment will continue until the end of the year," the report says.
