50,000 votes cast in opposition coordinating council election

MOSCOW. Oct 21 (Interfax) - Almost one third of the registered voters have cats their ballots in opposition coordinating council elections in Moscow, Central Election Committee Chairman Leonid Volkov told Interfax.

"Fifty thousand people have cast their votes, and 93,000 of the 157,000 registered voters have gone through a verification procedure," he said.

Hackers have intensified their attacks on the election website, he said. "Hacker attacks have intensified, but we don't give up. We have had no other technical problems," he said.

Volkov also said that supporters of the MMM financial pyramid scheme have entered the office where the Central Election Committee is headquartered, obstructing its work.
