Inter RAO to supply Belarus with electricity worth up to 11 bln rubles in 2013

MOSCOW. Oct 29 (Interfax) - The board of directors at Inter RAO UES has approved a contract with Belenergo for the supply of electric power to Belarus in 2013, providing that the price tag for the entire year not top 11 billion rubles, an Inter RAO statement says.

The price for the electricity will be determined based on the average weighted (projected) price for power on the energy market on the date each deal is concluded, customs fees, and payments for the services of infrastructural organizations.

The deal involves the export of electric power to Belarus both from Russia and from Lithuania.

Belarusian Energy Minister Alexander Ozerets has said that his country plans to import up to 5 billion kWh of power next year, of which 3 billion are guaranteed imports and the other 2 billion could be purchased if economically justified.

Inter RAO exported 3.173 billion kWh of power to Belarus in 2011.
