Rodina, Russian Party of Pensioners break up with A Just Russia

MOSCOW. Oct 29 (Interfax) - Rodina and the Russian Party of Pensioners have broken up with the A Just Russia party.

"Further cooperation with A Just Russia would be impossible," Rodina Chairman, State Duma deputy Alexei Zhuravlev told a Monday press conference at Interfax.

He admitted the failure to create a single party and said A Just Russia resembled "a political Frankenstein."

Zhuravlev and Russian Party of Pensioners Chairman Igor Zotov signed a bilateral agreement in the presence of journalists.

The document urged supporters of both parties to secede from A Just Russia and "to deny it support in elections of any level."

Rodina, the Russian Party of Pensioners and Zhizn signed the unification agreement in 2006.

"We break up these relations in the literal and figurative sense," Zotov said.
