Yevgeny Serdyukov from NP RTS elected head of St. Petersburg Exchange

MOSCOW. Oct 29 (Interfax) - Shareholders in St. Petersburg Exchange have decided to elect Yevgeny Serdyukov the exchange's general director, replacing Victor Nikolayev, the exchange said in a statement.

On July 30, Serdyukov became the managing director for the development of organized markets at Non-Commercial Partnership RTS after transferring from Moscow Exchange MICEX-RTS, where he was managing director for the derivatives market.

NP RTS owns 20% of St. Petersburg Exchange's shares and intends to raise that stake to 60% next year by buying stock from Ivan Tyryshkin and CJSC St. Petersburg Exchange.

Serdyukov started working at St. Petersburg Exchange in 2000, where he participated in the birth of the Russian futures and options market. In 2001 he directly participated in the launch of trade in the RTS - FORTS derivatives section. At RTS he headed the derivatives market department prior to the merger with MICEX.

Nikolayev, the current general director of St. Petersburg Exchange, is also one of its key shareholders.
