Belarusian authorities deny media reports on detention of lawyer for man involved in "Bolotnaya case"
MINSK. Oct 29 (Interfax) - Officials from the Belarusian State Security Committee did not detain Russian lawyer Maxim Korotkov-Gulyayev in Minsk, Alexander Antonovich, the head of the information and public relations center of the Belarusian State Security Service, told Interfax.
"Officials from the Belarusian State Security Service did not detain a man with this name," he said, commenting on Russian media reports stating that officials from the Belarusian State Security Service had detained the Russian lawyer in Minsk.
Korotkov-Gulyayev is a defense lawyer for a man involved in the "Bolotnaya case," whose apartment was recently searched.
The lawyer earlier told Interfax his apartment had been searched and documents related to the case as well as a large amount of money were seized on October 24. "Documents, including documents on my client Rikhard Sobolev, who is involved in the riots case, have been taken. A large amount of money is also missing," Korotkov-Gulyayev told Interfax.
