Red Square terror plot case referred to court - Russian prosecutors

MOSCOW. Oct 30 (Interfax) - The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has confirmed the indictment against Ilyas Saidov, who is suspected of plotting to stage a terrorist attack in Red Square on the night of January 1, 2011 and committing other serious crimes, Prosecutor's Office spokesperson Marina Gridneva told Interfax on Tuesday.

"Russian Deputy Prosecutor General Viktor Grin has confirmed an indictment in the criminal case opened against armed group member Ilyas Saidov. He is accused of staging a terrorist attack, preparing to commit a terror act, banditry, an attack on an officer of law enforcement services, murder and the illegal possession of weapons," she said.

Saidov's case has been referred to court, she added.
