Kazakhstan, BAE Systems yet to reach agreement on Air Astana share placement
ASTANA. Oct 30. (Interfax) - Kazakh state national welfare fund Samruk-Kazyna and Britain's BAE Systems have not yet reached a consensus on Air Astana's floating its shares in the 'People's IPO.'
"It's not still approved to float the shares of Air Astana. The private shareholder in Air Astana has yet to agree on that. It could happen next year," Samruk-Kazyna deputy chief Kuandyk Bishimbayev said in Astana on Tuesday.
The Kazakh government owns 51% of Air Astana via Samruk-Kazyna and BAE Systems the other 49%.
According to Samruk-Kazyna, KazTransOil JSC will be the first to float its shares as part of the People's IPO in 2012. In 2013 it will be followed by KEGOC, Air Astana, Kazmortransflot, Samruk-Energo and KazTransGas. In 2014-2015 the 'People's IPO' will be joined by Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, Kaztemirtrans, Kazatomprom and KazMunayGas.
