Azerbaijan to boost liquefied gas output 80% by 2017 compared to this year

BAKU. Oct 30 (Interfax) - Production of liquefied gas in Azerbaijan in 2017 is forecast at 177,000 tonnes, which tops the 2012 production forecast by 80%, the Azerbaijani government told Interfax.

Production of liquefied gas this year is forecast at 98,500 tonnes.

According to government forecasts, liquefied gas production should decrease in the country in 2013-2016. For instance, output is forecast in 2013 at 199,800 tonnes, 2014 - 187,200 tonnes, and 2015 - 182,700 tonnes.

Azerbaijan produced 27,200 tonnes of liquefied gas in 2011. Liquefied gas is produced at the Aliyev Refinery and at the Azerbaijan Gas Processing Plant.
