Sechin asks that Rosneftegaz dividends be paid later
MOSCOW. Nov 1 (Interfax) - OJSC Rosneftegaz, paying the government dividends for January-September in the time prescribed - before November 10 - will be losing almost 1 billion rubles due to the early withdrawal of deposits.
This is laid out in an October 25 letter written by the chairman of state-run company's board of directors Igor Sechin to Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and seen by Interfax.
According to instructions issued October 4 by First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov, corporate decisions on Rosneftegaz's payment of dividends for the nine months are to be made before November 5 and, five days hence, 50.2 billion rubles is to be transferred to the Russian budget. However, the necessary monies were earlier placed in deposits with VTB and Gazprombank , and without losses to Rosneftegaz they can be withdrawn only by December 5, Sechin wrote.
"In the event of the pre-term breaking of deposit agreements for the payment of dividends November 10, total losses to OJSC Rosneftegaz will amount to 910 million rubles," the letter says.
