Dollar and euro make downward turn on MICEX by Thurs eve

MOSCOW. Nov 1 (Interfax) - The U.S. dollar and euro made a downward turn on the MICEX for Thursday while the Russian ruble strengthened its position against the Central Bank's bi-currency basket (set at 0.45 euro and $0.55).

The dollar went down by 8 kopecks to close the MICEX at 31.26 rubles wile the euro went down by 13 kopecks to finish at 40.52 rubles/EUR1. The bi-currency basket went down by 10 kopecks to finish at 35.43 rubles.

The CBR reduced the official dollar rate by 0.77 kopecks to 31.3668 rubles/EUR1. The euro's official rate went down by 2.25 kopecks to 40.6323 rubles/EUR1.

The dollar averaged up 6.84 kopecks 31.3669 rubles in Today deals on the MICEX, and 5.14 kopecks to 31.3571 rubles/$1 in Tomorrow deals. Overall trading volume was $4.679 billion for the day, including $1.0115 billion in Today and $3.6678 billion in Tom.

The euro averaged down 3.06 kopecks to 40.6106 rubles/EUR1 in Today deals on the MICEX and 4.72 kopecks to 40.6273 rubles/EUR1 in Tom in volume of EUR 406.901 million, including EUR 228.333 million Today and EUR 178.568 million Tom.

The overnight MosPrime Rate went up by 10 basis points to 6.57%.
