Belarus plans to obtain all the Russian oil envisaged by balance this year

MINSK. Nov 2 (Interfax) - Belarus is planning to obtain all the oil envisaged by its balance with Russia - 21.5 million tonnes - by the end of this year, First Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko has said.

"All in all, we plan to get 21.5 million tonnes this year, as envisioned by the balance. Before November 15, the question of oil deliveries for the fourth quarter will be settled so that the amount not fully supplied in October will be made up for," Semashko told Interfax in comments on his talks with the Russian government.

"The negotiations took place in normal fashion. We talked about all the problem issues and agreed to resume oil deliveries in the fourth quarter at the 5.3 million tonnes envisioned by this year's balance," he said.

As to the negotiations on deliveries of Russian oil to Belarus next year, Semashko said, "We are talking about 23 million tonnes for next year. That is a fixed figure."
