MOSCOW. Nov 7 (Interfax) - A number of leftwing organizations will hold a march and a rally in Moscow to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the 1917 Socialist revolution on Wednesday.
"The Red March will mark the 95th anniversary of the October Revolution and is to be held in defense of political prisoners. The action has been organized by the leftist parties Left Front, Communist Youth Union (SKM), Communists of Russia, the Russian Communist Youth Union (RKSM), Labor Russia, New Leftists, and other organizations," the organizing group announced on one of the social networks.
Participants in the demonstrations sanctioned by the authorities will demand the revision of the privatization outcomes, Russia's withdrawal from the World Trade Organization (WTO), political support for free trade unions, and the introduction of visas with Central Asian countries.
The march will start at 6:00 a.m. from Nikitskiye Vorota and will proceed to Novopushkinsky Park, where the demonstrators will hold a rally.
Members of the opposition group The Other Russia will also take part in the demonstration.
Over 6,000 people will also take part in a ceremonial march on Red Square commemorating the November 7, 1941 military parade, from which soldiers went right to the front, the Moscow committee for public ties told Interfax.
"These are representatives of the Moscow children's movement, the Moscow children's organization Commonwealth, children from military-patriotic clubs and search units, cadets from Moscow schools, servicemen from the Moscow military garrison, who will be wearing 1941 uniforms, a cavalry group from the Presidential Regiment, and an Honor Guard company from the Independent Commandant Regiment. Historical military vehicles dating back to the WWII times will conclude the procession," a committee spokesperson said.
