Yamal LNG to hold public hearings for Sabetta Port on Dec 11
MOSCOW. Nov 9 (Interfax) - OJSC Yamal LNG and the administrations of the Tazovsky and Yamalsky districts of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Districts have started public discussions regarding the construction of a seaport in the Sabetta district on the Yamal Peninsula, including the development of a marine vessel channel in the Gulf of Ob, the company said in a statement published in Rossiiskaya Gazeta.
According the statement, the public hearings will take place on December 11.
It was earlier reported that dredging operations at the Sabetta Port, which are being implemented by USK MOST, are ahead of schedule.
"If we considering total operations, they have exceeded expectations. We presumed that it would be a million or around a million cubic meters. Now a figure of 1.5 million cubic meters has been confirmed," Deputy Transport Minister Viktor Olersky said.
Sabetta Port is the key facility in the Yamal LNG project's transportation infrastructure. The project foresees the creation of a natural gas liquefaction plant at the Yuzhno-Tambei field.
In the port is being built on the base of public-private partnership. Olersky earlier said that total federal financing in the port's construction will come to 47.3 billion rubles for the port itself and its approaches, as well as ice barriers and navigation support systems. Yamal LNG (shareholders are NOVATEK with 80% and Total with 20%) will invest an estimated 25 billion rubles into the port's infrastructure.
The Yamal LNG project foresees the development of Yuzhno-Tambei field with recoverable reserves at 1.3 trillion cubic meters of gas, and the development of the LNG plant with capacity for 16.5 million tonnes of LNG and 1 million tonnes of condensate a year. Three sections at the plant each with 5.5 million tonnes in LNG capacity will be built. The first is slated for commission at the end of 2016, second - end of 2017, and third - at the end of 2018.
