Govt looks to sell 1.2 mln tonnes of Intervention Fund grain by year-end - Dvorkovich

GORKY. Nov 12 (Interfax) - The Russian government figures to sell roughly 1.2 million tonnes of grain during the course of commodity interventions that began last month, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said during Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev's traditional meeting with deputy prime ministers in Gorky on Monday.

Asked by Medvedev how long the grain-market intervention program would continue, Dvorkovich said, "To the end of the year, definitely."

"According to our estimates, there will be sold about 1.2 million tonnes of grain from the Intervention Fund before the end of the year. So, more than three million tonnes that is necessary for coming years will remain in the Fund," he said.
