Russia to cut grain exports to 500,000-600,000 tonnes/month in early 2013 - Grain Union
MOSCOW. Nov 14 (Interfax) - Russia will cut grain exports to 500,000-600,000 tonnes a month in January-February 2013, President of the Russian Grain Union Arkady Zlochevsky predicted at a Wednesday press conference in Moscow.
However, rye exports will reach record amounts for the agricultural year ended July 1, 2013, he said.
The Grain Union is holding onto its previous forecast that grain exports will total 14-15 million tonnes this agricultural year, with the potential to export 16 million tonnes. In October, Russia exported 2.2 million tonnes of grain, Zlochevsky said.
"Exports will total 1.5 million tonnes in November and about 1 million tonnes in December," he said. "But January and February is a dead season, at which time we can expect exports of corn, peas, mustard and overall exports to total 500,000-600,000 tonnes a month," Zlochevsky concluded.
