Govt commission to discuss out-of-court settlement with Telenor Nov 21 - FAS
MOSCOW. Nov 14 (Interfax) - The Russian government commission on foreign investments on November 21 plans to discuss the possibility of settling the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service's (FAS) lawsuit against Telenor out of court, FAS chief Igor Artemyev told reporters.
"The government commission plans to consider this matter on November 21. We are passing the decision on to the government commission, which has already agreed with everything. If the commission approves the decision, this will mean that the lawsuit is in fact removed from the court and all procedures are completed. But the commission will meaningfully consider this matter, and I can't prejudge its decision," Artemyev said.
The commission is tentatively scheduled to meet on November 21, and a court session will be held a few days after. "This worked out very well. We are hoping that if the government commission renders a positive ruling, then we will ask the court to close the matter, and we hope that the third party - the company Altimo - will also not protest," he said.
