Four militants killed in two special operations in Dagestan - source
MAKHACHKALA. Nov 16 (Interfax) - Four militants have been killed in two special operation in Dagestan's Khasavyurt district, a local law enforcement source told Interfax, citing immediate reports.
The militants were killed during an assault on a house in the Vostochny residential area on the outskirts of Khasavyurt, he said.
"Two militants were killed during the assault and one was tentatively identified as Elbrus Butayev. He had been on the federal wanted list on suspicion of killing law enforcement officials," the source said.
Two other suspected militants were killed outside the village of Temiraul in the Khasavyurt district, he said.
"They opened fire at police from their car after they were ordered to stop for an ID check," the source said.
No official confirmation of this report is available to Interfax so far.
