Russian, Egyptian leaders discuss hostilities in Gaza
MOSCOW. Nov 16 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and Egyptian President Muhammad Mursi discussed the escalation of violence in the Gaza Strip and around it in a telephone conversation on Friday, the Kremlin press service said.
"The Russian leader emphasized the need to stop the armed confrontation and called on the parties involved in the conflict to exercise restraint and stop the use of force leading to civilian deaths. The Russian president said he supports Cairo's efforts aimed at normalizing the situation," it said.
