Former SNCF head joins Federal Passenger Co board
MOSCOW. Nov 16 (Interfax) - OJSC Russian Railways (RZD) subsidiary Federal Passenger Company (FPC) invited former president of French railways Societe Nationale des Chemins de fer Francais (SNCF), Anne-Marie Idrac, to join its board of directors.
RZD and FPC materials show that Idrac joined the FPC board in mid-2012.
Prior to that Idrac worked closely with Russian Railways within the framework of the Franco-Russian Dialogue Association, founded in 2004 at an intergovernmental level. Co-chairman of the association from Russia is RZD President Vladimir Yakunin, and Idrac, as Secretary of State for Foreign Trade, was the vice chairman from France.
"Our governments chose railways as a priority for cooperation. And this subject can have the most effective continuation in industry and transport," Idrac said at one of the association meetings at the end of 2011.
