Announcement: Interfax to host news conference on cosmonaut selection
*** The results of the first open competition in selecting candidates for training as Russian cosmonauts will be announced at a planned news conference in Moscow on November 21.
The speakers at the conference will include cosmonaut Sergei Krikalev, who heads the Yury Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center and bears the titles of Hero of the Soviet Union and Hero of Russia, and competition winners.
Problems that came to light in the course of the selection procedure are one of the subjects to be raised at the news conference, which will start at noon and will be held at the Interfax headquarters at Ul. Pervaya Tverskaya-Yamskaya 2.
