Naftogaz to pay $51 mln for 3D seismic at Pallas zone on Black Sea shelf
KYIV. Nov 20 (Interfax) - Ukraine's national oil and gas company Naftogaz Ukrainy has declared Luhansk-based LLC Universal Commercial Company the winner of a tender to perform 3D seismic research at the Pallas zone on the Black Sea shelf for $51 million.
According to a Naftogaz announcement published in the Public Procurement Bulletin, Universal Commercial Company's offer to conduct the work for UAH 407.6 million (roughly $51 million) was accepted on November 19. The contract signing deadline is December 19.
Other participants in the tender included Kyiv-based LLC Kaprombud, which offered its services for UAH 407.68 million, and Simferopol-based LLC Volodar, which offered UAH 408.95 million.
The Pallas structure is located in the southern portion of the Kerch Shelf on the transborder water area of Ukraine and Russia. The zone covers some 200 square kilometers, and the depth of the design parametric well is 460 meters. Prospective recoverable hydrocarbon resources reach 145 million tonnes. According to Naftogaz, the development program for the zone envisages 3D seismic in 2011 and 2012, the drilling of two parametric wells of 5,350 m in 2013, the drilling of two prospecting wells in 2014-2017, and the drilling of exploratory and production wells in 2017-2026.
LLC Universal Commercial Company, which has charter capital of UAH 3,000 ($375), was registered in October 2011. The company is wholly owned by private citizen Oleksandr Chumak. Its core activity is wholesale trading of fuel and various equipment. Universal Commercial Company's office is located in an apartment in Luhansk.
In the middle of November, Universal Commercial Company won a tender held by Naftogaz subsidiary Chernomornaftogaz to supply steel pipes.
The official exchange rate on November 20 was UAH 7.993/$1.
