FTS proposes raising gas tariffs for population by 15% in mid-2013
MOSCOW. Nov 21 (Interfax) - The Russian Federal Tariff Service (FTS) proposes raising gas prices for the population by 15% on July 1, 2013, according to a draft order published on the official FTS website on Tuesday.
In this document, the FTS recommends approving wholesale prices for gas produced by Gazprom and its affiliated entities intended for subsequent sale to the population by time zone.
"The wholesale prices for gas approved by this order are considered in the formation of retail prices for gas sold to the population," the draft order said.
If the FTS decision is adopted, it will fall in line with the forecast for socio-economic development in 2013 and the planning period 2014 and 2015, which the government approved in September.
On July 1 of this year, the population saw gas tariffs also rise by 15%.
