Russian property agency nominates new candidates for Rusgeology board of directors
MOSCOW. Nov 22 (Interfax) - Russia's Federal Property Agency (Rosimushchestvo) has crafted a new list of candidates for the board of directors of state-run geological holding Rusgeology.
According to the agency's materials, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller has been nominated as chairman of Rusgeology's board of directors.
The following have been put forward as professional directors: General Director of the All-Russian Research Geological Oil Institute (VNIGNI) Alexei Varlamov, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Nikolai Laverov, First Vice President for Upstream at Bashneft Mikhail Stavsky and Vice President of Russneft Andrei Shegimago.
Those nominated to the board as independent experts include: Deputy General Director and Director of the Government Relations and Remuneration Department at MMC Norilsk Nickel Vyacheslav Poltavtsev and Chairman of the Board of Directors of NOVATEK Alexander Natalenko.
This draft government resolution has to be submitted to the Economic Development Ministry.
Earlier, the list of candidates included former Rusgeology chief Sergei Donskoy and Deputy Chairman of Vnesheconombank (VEB) Anatoly Ballo. However, Donskoy was appointed Natural Resources and Environment Minister, and Ballo was charged with fraud.
The presidential decree establishing Rusgeology was issued in July 2011. It includes 37 state-owned geological enterprises with operations in Russia, 24 of which are open joint-stock companies and 13 of which are federal state unitary enterprises. Shares in these OJSCs and corporatized FSUEs will be contributed to Rusgeology's charter capital.
