Lavrov to discuss Afghanistan, Mideast and missile defense at Russia-NATO Council
MOSCOW. Nov 22 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will attend a ministerial conference of the Russia-NATO Council in Brussels on December 4, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich told a Thursday press briefing.
He said the conference would focus on Afghanistan, missile defense and the Middle East.
"The ministers will discuss implementation of the agreements reached at the Russia-NATO Lisbon summit on November 20, 2010, with regard to genuine modernized strategic partnership of Russia and the alliance based on the principles of indivisibility, security, mutual trust, transparency and predictability and aimed at Euro-Atlantic security and stability," the diplomat said.
