Eleven criminal cases opened against generals, admirals in Russia in 2012
MOSCOW. Nov 28 (Interfax) - The number of criminal cases opened against generals and admirals in Russia doubled in 2012, Alexander Sorochkin, the head of the Main Military Investigations Department of the Investigations Committee, said.
"This year can be called a good year for the criminal prosecution of top military officers," Sorochkin told reporters in Moscow on Wednesday.
Five criminal cases were opened against generals and admirals in 2011 and 11 such cases have been opened this year, he said.
Sorochkin did not name any names or positions.
