Khabarovsk refinery boosts throughput 4.9% in 9M

KHABAROVSK. Nov 29 (Interfax) - Alliance Oil Company's Khabarovsk Refinery boosted throughput 4.9% year-on-year in January-September to 2.917 million tonnes, the refinery's press office said.

Petroleum product output rose 5.6% to 2.808 million tonnes.

Alliance Oil Company has said it intends to ramp up the Khabarovsk Oil Refinery's capacity to 100,000 barrels a day (almost 5 million tonnes a year) as a result of modernization. The company will invest $1.4 billion in the modernization program, which it plans to wrap up in 2013, $1 billion of which it has already spent. In 2009-2012 Alliance Oil Company launched seven new units at the refinery, as a result of which the enterprise's capacity expanded to 84,800 barrels a day and refining depth reached 70.2%.

Set up in 2008 with the merger of oil company Alliance and West Siberian Resources (Sweden), Alliance Oil Company explores and produces hydrocarbons in the Tomsk region, the Nenets Autonomous District, the Komi Republic, the Samara region, Tatarstan and Kazakhstan. The company also owns the Khabarovsk Oil Refinery and a chain of filling stations in the Far East.
