Aeroflot group flies 22% more passengers in 10M

MOSCOW. Nov 29 (Interfax) - The Aeroflot - Russian Airlines group flew 23.324 million people in January-October this year, 22.4% more than during the same ten months of last year, a statement issued by federal air transport agency Rosaviatsia says.

The airline Rossiya carried 3.7 million passengers, 22.6% more year-on-year. Orenburg Airlines transported 2.7 million travelers, a 22.9% increase, and Donavia 817,000, up 16.4%.

Vladivostok Avia flew about 1 million, 5.4% fewer, and Sakhalinsk Aviatrassy 224,000, 12.6% fewer.

Aeroflot itself increased passenger carriage 25.9% to 14.8 million people during the ten months.

Aeroflot is Russia's biggest air carrier, whose main shareholder is the government (51.17%). The airline transported more than 14 million passengers last year versus 11.3 million in 2010.
