Russia, Turkey sign paper on nuclear plant, other documents
ISTANBUL. Dec 3 (Interfax) - A series of Russian-Turkish documents were signed during Russian President Vladimir Putin's working visit to Turkey on Monday.
One of the documents was a joint statement of Russian state corporation Rosatom and the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources on a project to build a nuclear power plant at Akkuyu, Turkey, the country's first nuclear power plant.
Another was a government program for trade and economic, scientific, technological cooperation for the period from 2012 to 2015.
The two governments signed an agreement on Russian graves in Turkey and Turkish graves in Russia and an accord to set up cultural centers.
The co-chairmen of the Russian-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation signed a joint statement.
The Russian Federal Financial Monitoring Service and the financial crime department of the Turkish Finance Ministry signed a memorandum of understanding on joint action to prevent money laundering and the financing of terrorism.
One more memorandum of understanding deals with cooperation between the Russian Foreign Ministry's Diplomatic Academy and the Turkish Foreign Ministry's Academy of Diplomacy.
The Russian Energy Agency, an institution reporting to the Energy Ministry, signed a memorandum of understanding on energy efficiency and renewable energy with the head of the renewable energy department of the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources.
The documents signed on Monday also included an action plan for the so-called Russian-Turkish Public Forum.
