Ryazan refinery to invest $45 mln in flare system modernization until 2015
RYAZAN. Dec 4 (Interfax) - CJSC Ryazan Oil Refinery Company (RORC) is investing $45 million in a flare system modernization program.
"The program is calculated until 2015 and provides for practically a complete replacement of the process equipment at RORC's flares. New, modern units will make it possible to compress combustion products, returning them back into the system," RORC said in a press release.
This year, investments in the program will total around $3 million. The 2013 plan has investments at about $8.5 million.
This project is part of a large-scale plan to equip the refinery to comply with the most modern international standards. It will substantially raise the safety level of production and slash harmful emissions, thereby minimizing the impact on the environment. By reducing the volume of burned oil, RORC will be able to increase refining volumes and raise efficiency indicators, the press release said.
RORC is TNK-BP's largest refining enterprise. It is expected to refine 16.3 million tonnes of oil this year and 17.2 million tonnes in 2013.
