Ukraine to transit 110 bcm of gas in 2013 - draft budget

KYIV. Dec 4 (Interfax) - Ukraine plans to transit 110 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas through its territory in 2013, according to a draft law on the national budget for 2013, registered at the Verkhovna Rada on December 3 (No. 11000).

According to the document, with the rent rate foreseen by the Tax Code being UAH 1.67 per 1,000 cubic meters per 100 km, and the average transit distance being 1,181 km, revenues to the 2013 national budget are expected to reach UAH 2.169 billion.

As reported, similar volumes of gas transit, the rent rate and income were foreseen in the national budget for 2012.

Natural gas transit through Ukraine to Europe and the CIS countries over the first ten months of 2012 decreased by 19.2% compared to the same period in 2011, to 69.2 billion cubic meters.

Thus, natural gas transit through Ukraine to Europe and the CIS in 2012 is unlikely to exceed 90 billion cubic meters.
