Mongolia calls on SCO countries to get involved in transport infrastructure development

BISHKEK. Dec 5 (Interfax) - Mongolian Prime Minister Norov Altankhuyag has called on the SCO countries to get involved in the construction of railways in Mongolia.

"I would like to point out our interest in developing cooperation with the SCO countries on large projects such as the construction of new railways and highways," he said at a meeting of the heads of governments of the SCO countries.

"Participation in the project to build a 1,800-kilometer trunk railroad, whose total cost is estimated at $5 billion, is open to our partners by equity participation in the special-purpose company," the Mongolian prime minister said.
