Ukrainian Rada passes 2013 draft budget

KYIV. Dec 6 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada passed a draft national budget for 2013 on Thursday.

The decision was supported by 242 out of the 351 parliamentarians who had signed in for the parliamentary session on Thursday.

The Ukrainian Cabinet endorsed a draft national budget on December 3, when it resigned because of the prime minister's election to the parliament. The draft budget envisions GDP growth of 3.4% and inflation of 4.8% in 2013.

The government proposed increasing budget deficit in 2013 by 30% to 50.4 billion hryvni, or 3.2% of GDP, compared to 2012. It also proposed reducing budget revenues by 3% to 361.5 billion hryvni and expenditures by 1% to 410.6 billion hryvni.

The draft budget envisions setting the sovereign debt limit at 483 billion hryvni by the end of 2013, which is 14% more than the 2012 limit.

The government also anticipates consolidated budget revenues to reach 463.1 billion hryvni, which is 0.5% less than the plan for 2012, while there will be 0.5% growth on the common fund to 403.2 billion hryvni and 6.9% decline on the special fund to 59.9 billion hryvni.

The 6th Verkhovna Rada is holding its last session on Thursday.

The new parliament will start working on December 12.
