Russian shares up on U.S. data

MOSCOW. Dec 7 (Interfax) - Russian shares gained on Friday on the back of good U.S. jobs market data.

The MICEX stock index closed up 0.2% at 1441.47 and the RTS rose 0.3% to 1471.09. Benchmark stocks rose by up to 1.5%.

The MICEX grew 2.5% in the week and the RTS rose 2.4%.

Ordinary shares in Avtovaz soared 17.8% and prefs 18% on news that Renault-Nissan and the Russian Technologies (Rostekhnologii) corporation would sign a deal by the middle of December to form a joint venture to obtain a stake in the company.

There were also gains for Lukoil (+0.7%), Rosneft (+1%), Rostelecom (+0.3%) and Surgutneftegas (+1.1%).

Second-tier advancers included Kamaz (+3.5%), RAO Energy Systems of East (+3.4%), Uralkali (+1.8%), Sistema (+1.5%) and VSMPO-Avisma (+1.5%).

There were losses for TGK-9 (-2.8%), Vozrozhdenie (-2.4%), Sollers (-2.2%), E.ON Russia (-1.5%), IDGC Holding (-1.4%) and Inter RAO (-1.3%).

Combined trading volume on the main MICEX-RTS market was 24.815 billion rubles, of which 8.402 billion rubles in Sberbank ordinary shares. Standard market turnover was $71.415 million and Classica - $1.173 million.
