Ukraine ups electricity output 1.8% in 11M
KYIV. Dec 11 (Interfax) - Ukraine's United Energy System raised electricity production 1.8% year-on-year in January-November to 178.96 billion kilowatt-hours, an Energy and Coal Ministry source told Interfax.
Combined heat and power plants increased electricity output 4.3% to 79.99 billion kilowatt hours, nuclear power plants reduced it 0.01% to 81.5 billion kWh, block plants and utility plants reduced it 3.8% to 7.09 billion kWh and hydro power plants cut output 3% to 9.806 billion kWh.
Non-traditional electricity output grew 11.8-fold to 529.7 million kWh.
Nuclear plants produced 45.5% and CHP plants - 44.7% of Ukraine's electricity. Non-traditional forms accounted for 0.3%, hydro-plants - 5.5% and block plants and utility plants - 4%.
Heat output fell 4.3% in the 11M to 22.06 billion Gcal.
Overall electricity output fell 4.6% year-on-year in November to 17.096 billion kWh.
Electricity consumption rose 0.1% to 170.094 billion kWh in January-November. It fell 2.9% in industry to 64.8 billion kWh but grew 4.3% at households to 36.25 billion kWh. Industry consumed 47.3% and households 26.5% of the electricity.
