Putin proposes giving senators, Duma deputies right to propose legislative initiatives in regional assemblies
MOSCOW. Dec 12 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed to give State Duma deputies and Federation Council members the right to propose legislative initiatives in regional assemblies.
"I believe it is right to give Federation Council members and State Duma deputies the right to propose legislative initiatives in the Legislative Assemblies of their regions," Putin said in his address to the Federal Assembly.
Putin said there is a need to increase the connection between federal legislation and the people living in the regions.
