Russia's stance on Syria remains unchanged - Foreign Ministry
MOSCOW. Dec 14 (Interfax) - Moscow has not changed its approach to the Syrian crisis, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said at a press briefing in Moscow on Friday.
"I have already seen U.S. Department of State spokesperson Victoria Nuland quote and say in jubilation that Moscow has finally woken up and has changed its position," he said.
"But we have never been asleep and have never changed our approach," he added.
Russian Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, speaking at the Russian Public Chamber on Thursday, "once again reaffirmed our uncompromising opinion in favor of implementing the agreements reached in Geneva on June 30 as soon as possible," Lukashevich said.
