Severstal to reelect current board
MOSCOW. Dec 17 (Interfax) - The board of directors of Russian steelmaker Severstal has approved the list of candidates for the new board to be elected at the company's annual general meeting, the company told Interfax.
According to the approved list published on Monday, the company plans to reelect its current board: independent director Christopher Clark; CEO Alexei Mordashov; independent director Rolf Stomberg; independent director Martin Angle; independent director Ronald Freeman; independent director Peter Kraljic; Severstal International and Severstal North America CEO Sergei Kuznetsov; nonexecutive director Mikhail Noskov; CFO Alexei Kulichenko; and Severstal Russian Steel CEO Alexander Grubman.
The board also nominated candidates for the internal audit commission, and nominated Mordashov for CEO.
Lists of candidates for election at the AGM, according to the company charter, are approved before December 20.
Severstal is a vertically integrated steelmaker with assets in Russia, North America, Europe, Africa and Ukraine. Its primary beneficiary is its chief Alexei Mordashov who, after Nordgold's spin-off, owns 81.4% of the company.
