Grain sales from Russian state fund reach 1 mln tonnes

MOSCOW. Dec 18 (Interfax) - The Russian government sold 61,100 tonnes of grain worth 511.4 million rubles on Tuesday during commodity interventions on the grain market, the MICEX and NTB said in a press release.

Therefore, since the start of trading (October 23), total grain sales from Russia's state intervention fund reached 1.0099 million tonnes worth almost 8.2 billion rubles.

Since the start of trade, 703,300 tonnes of third-class food wheat from the 2008 harvest have been sold for 5.7 billion rubles; 90,800 tonnes of fourth-class wheat from the 2008 have been sold for 734 million rubles; 182,600 tonnes of third-class wheat from the 2009 harvest have been sold for 1.5 billion rubles; 31,700 tonnes of fourth-class wheat from the 2009 harvest have been sold for 252.1 million rubles; and 1,500 tonnes of fourth-class wheat from the 2011 harvest have been sold for 12.4 million rubles.

During this period, the weighted average price of grain sold was 8,070.6 rubles per tonne of third-class wheat from the 2008 harvest; 8,231.2 rubles per tonne of third-class wheat from the 2009 harvest; 8,079.9 rubles per tonne of fourth-class wheat from the 2008 harvest; and 7,947.4 rubles per tonne of fourth-class wheat from the 2009 harvest.
