CBR includes Visa on register of payment system operators
MOSCOW. Dec 19 (Interfax) - The Central Bank of Russia (CBR) has registered Visa's international system on its register for payments system operators, the CBR said in its materials
The operator for payments systems and the payment clearings center is LLC Visa Payment System, payment center - VTB Bank , and operational center - Visa International Service Association.
Visa is the 11th system included on the register. The register also includes the following systems: Blizko (operator is Sviaz-Bank ), HandyBank (CJSC HandySolutions), Unistream (Unistream Bank), Contract (Russlavbank), National Credit Cards (CJSC National Credit Cards), Western Union (NKO Western Union DP Vostok), Union Card (CJSC Processing Company Union Card), United Payment System (NKO United Payment System), Anelik (Anelik Ru bank, and Regional Payment System (Tula Payment Center Bank).
According to the law on the national payment system, which was adopted in July 2011, now all non-credit organizations that operate payment systems are obligated to send the CBR a registration application and receive registration in the relevant register by the end of this year.
