Putin to attend Russia-EU summit in Brussels
MOSCOW. Dec 20 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend the 30th Russia-European Union summit in Brussels on December 21.
The participants in the summit will meet over an informal dinner on Thursday evening. The summit will open officially on Friday.
"During the summit, the sides plan to discuss the whole range of bilateral issues, including the state of their trade and economic cooperation, contacts in the energy sector and ways to further promote the Partnership for Modernization initiative," the Kremlin press service said earlier.
Other key topics include the prospects for cancelling visa requirements for short-term trips by Russian and EU citizens, the situation surrounding talks on a new cooperation and partnership agreement between Russia and the EU, as well as the priorities of Russia's G20 presidency.
The sides are also expected to discuss their approaches to a number of international and regional issues, the press service said.
