Duma to pass anti-Magnitsky Act bill at 3rd reading Friday
MOSCOW. Dec 20 (Interfax) - The Russian State Duma is expected to pass a bill retaliating against the U.S. Sergei Magnitsky Rule of Law Accountability Act of 2012 in the third and final reading and also ask the executive branch to make proposals on developing the adoption system in Russia on Friday, Duma Chairman Sergei Naryshkin said.
"The State Duma deputies will consider a draft resolution addressing all government bodies tomorrow that they should draft proposals that would stimulate the adoption of our children by our citizens," Naryshkin told journalists on Thursday.
The Duma passed the bill in the second reading on Wednesday. One of the bill's provisions bans the adoption of Russian children by U.S. citizens.
