Moscow hears Tokyo's signal of plans to sign peace treaty - Putin
MOSCOW. Dec 20 (Interfax) - The new Japanese authorities' intention to sign a peace treaty with Russia is very important, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, announcing his readiness for constructive dialogue with Tokyo.
"We have heard a signal from Tokyo, from the party which has again come to power there, that the leadership of this party will seek to conclude a peace treaty. It is a very important signal. We value it highly," Putin said at a press conference in Moscow on Thursday.
