Suspect in Magnitsky death case must be acquitted - prosecutor's office

MOSCOW. Dec 24 (Interfax) - The prosecutor's office has pleaded for the acquittal of former deputy head of Butyrka detention facility Dmitry Kratov, who is the only suspect in the case of the death of Hermitage Capital lawyer Sergei Magnitsky.

"There is no cause and effect relationship between Kratov's actions and Magnitsky's death. I request his acquittal," attorney for the prosecution Konstantin Bokov said during the presentation of cases in Moscow's Tverskoy court.
