Verkhnechonskneftegas to spend 7 bln rubles on pumping associated gas
MOSCOW. Dec 25 (Interfax) - The cost of a project for the pumping of associated gas into strata that Verkhnechonskneftegas plans to carry out will amount to around 7 billion rubles, the TNK-BP press service told Interfax.
TNK-BP has a 74% stake in Verkhnechonskneftegas (Rosneft - 26%).
Verkhnechonskneftegas has begun to build infrastructure for increasing its oil-preparation installation's capacity to 7.5 million tonnes of oil per year and a gas compressor station for pumping gas into strata.
In 2013, Verkhnechonskneftegas plans to drill gas-injection wells, and in 2013-2014 will build a 40-kilometer gas pipeline that will link the the oil-preparation installation with the northern part of the Verkhnechonsk deposit, where gas will be pumped back underground.
TNK-BP said that the 7 billion rubles in spending includes the building of the compressor station, and wells and pipeline.
If agreement is reached with Gazprom , Verkhnechonskneftegas will be able to deliver gas to a gas-transport system that Gazprom is only planning to build.
If just associated gas is delivered to the gas-transport system, the amount will be 1 billion cubic meters (bcm), and if natural gas is added to the mix - 3 bcm per year.
Gazprom made the investment decision to build a gas pipeline from the Chayanda deposit in Yakutia - Yakutia-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok - late this year. Gazprom is considering the possibility of linking with the Irkutsk gas production center, building pipeline from the Kovykta deposit to the Chayanda deposit.
The Russian government is urging the oil sector to reduce the amount of associated petroleum gas flared. Starting next year, the coefficient for calculation payment for burning off more than 5% will be 12, from 2014 on - 25. If no metering instruments are present, the coefficient will be 120, independent of the amount of gas flared.
