Tajik citizen caught in Moscow with 13 kilos of heroin

MOSCOW. Jan 9 (Interfax-AVN) - The Moscow police have seized almost 13 kilograms of heroin from a citizen of Tajikistan, a source at the Russian Interior Ministry press center told Interfax on Sunday.

"The transport police and officers of the Russian Interior Ministry's Main Criminal Investigation Department detained the drug seller at the Moscow Tovarnaya - Paveletskaya railroad station at about 5 p.m. on Saturday," he said.

The 27-year-old unemployed man from Tajikistan was carrying about 12,950 grams of a suspicious powder in his sports bag. A laboratory identified the substance as heroin.

A criminal case was opened over illegal distribution of large amounts of drugs.
