Over 7,000 people convicted for corruption in Russia in 2012

MOSCOW. Jan 11 (Interfax) - Over 7,000 people were convicted for corruption in Russia in 2012, Russian presidential administration head Sergei Ivanov said.

"Over 7,000 people were convicted last year. It's a lot," Ivanov said at a meeting in the Prosecutor General's Office timed to the anniversary of the agency's foundation.

"Journalists often ask about imprisonments. Here they are" Ivanov said.
